“Some of my most cherished memories in hockey started right here in NIHL, playing for the Winnetka Warriors. One of those unforgettable moments was during my last year when our team made it to championship weekend and finished in third place. It was an incredible experience that I’ll never forget.

Hockey has given me so many special memories, beginning with my time in NIHL. I learned the fundamentals of the game and sparked a love for hockey that has stayed with me ever since. One of the most special moments was playing on the same team as my sister and friends. That bond we created through hockey stayed strong even as we moved on to college. I’ve had the chance to face off against them once again.

Just recently, I was back at the Winnetka ice rink, where it all began. I hopped on the ice during a camp, gave the kids some advice, and chatted with them on the bench. Seeing those young players out there brought back so many memories of my own time in NIHL. When I was their age, having someone older to look up to, like John Moore from the Blackhawks, meant the world to me. Now, I try to be that role model for the next generation, showing them that it’s possible to go from NIHL to playing high-level hockey, even in college.

To all the players in NIHL, I want you to know how special this time is. Playing for Winnetka was an amazing experience because it was close to home, and I got to play with my friends while my dad coached. These are the moments that will stay with you, so make the most of them. NIHL taught me the importance of hard work, discipline, and consistency, but the biggest lesson was to enjoy the game.

It’s not just about being the best at your age; it’s about continuing to grow, improving every day, and enjoying the process. If you have a weakness, work on it, and let your love for the game drive you to get better.

Most importantly, have fun! Hockey is a long journey, and success doesn’t happen overnight. If you love what you’re doing, the hard work will be worth it. As you get older, you’ll need to start committing more to the game. But for now, focus on loving the game and having fun on the ice.

Keep skating hard and enjoy every minute—because you never know where hockey might take you!

All the best,”
