Winnetka Hockey Club Announces New Hockey Director

The Winnetka Hockey Club has named Jimmy Warrick as the Club's fifth hockey director in its 52 year history. Jimmy will be responsible for the entire scope of WHC's travel and house league programs, including teams, skills, coach recruitment and development, learn-to-play,  and other administrative aspects of club management. He will also co-lead the North Shore Hockey Club, Winnetka's Bantam/Midget program that is operated in partnership with the Wilmette Hockey Association. Warrick will join the Warriors with the spring season in late March.

“Jimmy is the right leader for the Winnetka Hockey Club," said Andy McNerney, WHC's Club President. "He has strong coaching experience, a proven approach to player skills development, solid organizational skills, and a keen desire to invest in the local community. We are fortunate to have him and are excited to welcome him into the club."

"It's a privilege and an honor to be named Hockey Director of the Winnetka Warriors," said Warrick. "I look forward to getting to work and meeting all the players, coaches, parents, and members of the community."

A native of the Chicago North Shore, Warrick started his youth hockey career with the Skokie and Northbrook youth programs before going on to play high school hockey at Shattuck St. Mary School in Faribault, Minnesota. He went on to play junior hockey for the New York Aviators of the USPHL, where he led the league in scoring and earned MVP honors in the 2015-16 season.

After completing one season at the NCAA Division 3 Aurora University Spartans, he embarked on a career in coaching and player development with the Chicago Young Americans (now the Windy City Storm).  He also scouted local youth hockey talent for the Johnstown Tomahawks of the NAHL and the London Knights in the OHL.

Since 2019, Warrick has served as the Assistant Hockey Director at the Winter Club of Lake Forest, IL where he has coached teams at every age group, developed and expanded the learn-to-play program, and managed day-to-day operations of the club.

Warrick has also served as a Head Coach of the Lake Forest High School Junior Varsity Blue team and Assistant Coach of the Varsity Gold team. He joined the program in 2020.

Warrick is also going into his ninth year of managing Warrick Hockey Advantage, a skills development company catering to players across all age groups from the youngest mites to seasoned professionals.
