MMDP/MITE HOUSE SELECTS

This is a developmental program for Minor Mites and Mites designed to give our house league players the opportunity for additional ice time, instruction, and “play time”. 

 The program will have weekly skills sessions conducted by our professional staff. These sessions will follow the American Development Model (ADM) concept of station-based training with a focus on maximizing each skater's repetitions and core skill development. These sessions will run from early December to the end of February/early March. Games with neighboring communities will be integrated into the program after winter break (see below).

Minor Mite Development Program (MMDP) is for children born in 2017 and 2018. Skills sessions will be on Tuesdays at Watts Ice Center from 5:30-6:30pm

We expect to offer six full ice games with some of our neighboring programs (Wilmette, Northbrook, Glenview, Falcons, Evanston, and Ice Dogs) all within 20 minutes). This will help acclimate children to full-ice hockey concepts as they progress. We will play the majority of our home games on Fridays, but Saturday/Sunday afternoon games are also possible.

Mite Selects is for children born in 2015 & 2016. Mite Selects will be similar to MMDP except Skills Sessions will be Thursdays 6:10pm at North Shore Ice Arena or Thursdays at 6:45p at Watts. Mite Selects will play 6-8 games with neighboring communities after winter break. 

These programs will be designed to improve each player’s skills while giving them an opportunity to play teams from outside our program. We expect both programs to offer approximately 20 on-ice sessions. 

We do not expect that any of these sessions will conflict with regularly scheduled House League activities. 

If your child is eager for additional ice time and more hockey, this is a great option.
